2x2 Wood Flag Tutorial

This post is being brought over from my old blog - enjoy!

2x2 flag tutorial:

Supplies Needed:

a piece of 2x2 wood (I bought mine at Home Deport)
small piece of 2x3 wood
Paint (I used spray paint in a blue, red and almond)
Star cutout (I cutout a star in vinyl, but anything should work)
Glue (I used Wood Glue)
Red and Blue ribbon or Tulle

First cut your wood.
2x2 wood:
 2 pieces 9 3/4 inches long
3 pieces 7 1/4 inches long

2x3 wood:
4 1/4 inches long
Here is the paint I used (you may need a couple of coats)

Grab 1 long piece of 2x2 wood and 2 small pieces of 2x2 wood and paint red.

Grab 1 long piece of 2x2 and 1 short piece of 2x2 and your 2x3 piece of wood and paint cream or white.  On the 2x3 piece you only need to paint the top.
When the wood is dry add a star shape to your 2x2 piece of wood.  You will want to use something that has a sticky back so paint can't get underneath.  I used vinyl.
Paint the 2x3 piece blue and once it is dry remove the star - Walla! you have a cream star on your blue block.

Assemble the flag and glue it together.
Once the glue is dry tie some ribbon or tulle around one side of the flag and decorate your home.

Very simple, easy and cute!

Thanks for looking!
