Sweetheart Wreath

My daughter Adison wanted to work with me on a craft project so I wanted to come up with something easy that she could do most of the work and would hold her attention.  She helped me (and did most of the work) make this cute Sweetheart Wreath.

Heart doily wreath

This craft is not very expensive, very easy and quick.  My favorite kind of craft!

Supplies Needed:
  • Styrofoam Wreath
  • Straight pins (my daughter is 8 so I wasn't worried about her working with them - she is very careful)
  • Heart Doilies (I purchased these red and white doilies at Hobby Lobby)
  • Tulle (in the picture below I show black and pink - well I ended up using black and red)

Let's get started

You really won't see the wreath form under all of the hearts but if you were to see it from the side you would see the Styrofoam.  So I wanted to cover the wreath form with some Tulle. This is super simple - just secure the end of your tulle at the back with a pin and wrap around the wreath.  I ran out of black and was going to finish in pink but didn't have enough pink - so I finished in red.

Next Adison placed the red doily hearts around the wreath.  She secured each heart with a straight pin.

Then Adison did the same with the white heart doilies.  This time she overlapped them a bit.  She secured each heart with a straight pin.

If you wanted to hang this on a wreath hanger you could attach some tulle or ribbon on the back of the wreath with a pin.  I have a cute sign/wreath holder in the corner of my family room that we placed our wreath on.

Adison was very proud of making this and I think it turned out super cute!
